UK Campsites – A full list of UK campsite Reviews

The Mum Diaries      Leave a Comment

Over the past couple of years we have been to several different campsites. I thought it would be best to compile a list of UK campsite reviews that we have stayed at over the past few years. This will be updated to include any new sites we have camped at.

Our UK Campsite Reviews

Skandika Gotland 6 and Canopy

Mad Hatters Camping and Glamping– Mad Hatters Camping and Glamping is based in Ely. Its a small campsite which offers electric and non electric pitches. We stayed earlier this year and was our first camping trip during covid 19.

Merthyr Farm Campsite – Based in Wales, Merthyr Farm Campsite is based on a working farm. We stayed for 2 nights in 2019 and despite winds destroying our tent, we had a lovely stay!

Shell Island– A huge site based in North Wales. There are no electric pitches and the only way onto the campsite is a road on a tidal causeway. Perfect for dolphin spotting, crabbing and beach getaways. We stayed at Shell Island back in 2017 and was our first camping trip.

Diglea Holiday Park– Norfolk based site with a mixture of electric and non electric pitches. Near the Norfolk coastline.

Yarwell Mill Country Park – Yarwell Mill Country Park is surrounded by the River Nene and is an ideal spot if you enjoy fishing. If that is not your thing then Adventure Rutland is available to hire paddle boarding gear!

Secret Garden Wisbech – Is a lovely site based in Wisbech. The pitches vary in size and the facilities are kept clean. The boys really enjoyed exploring the maze and seeing the pigs that are kept on site.

Cuckoo Farm – Cuckoo Farm is a site in Rutland. It is relatively small and has access to a river that children are able to play in. It does get busy, however it is a well kept.

Wicksteed Park – With thrilling rides, meerkats and plenty of space to kick a ball, the campsite at Wicksteed Park is perfectly postitioned to enhance your visit to the park!

Camping and Caravanning Club Site Reviews

All these reviews were gifted stays. We have always enjoyed staying at Camping and Caravanning Club sites. They are always clean with great facilities and always in areas which have plenty to do too!

Hertford Camping and Caravan Club Site

Scarborough Camping and Caravanning Club– We would totally recommend the site! Especially if you have children and love exploring the local areas. There are literally so many places to explore in Scarborough and the Scarborough Camping and Caravanning Club Site makes a pretty decent base camp.

West Runton Camping and Caravanning Club– I think it is safe to say that we have caught the glamping bug. We love camping but the ease of arriving at the site with everything is too much of a good thing to pass.

Sandringham Camping and Caravanning Club– Sandringham has always been a great place for a day out! We had the opportunity to camp in 2018 and despite the weather not being on our side we made the most of it!

Hertford Camping and Caravanning Club– The Site is a large 240+ pitch site. The pitches are not all clubbed together and there is a lot of space! Even if you were using an electric hook up (we wasn’t) you had a pick of great pitches. A predominantly flat site which surrounds a lake.

Holmsley Camping and Caravanning Club– Based within the new forest national park Holmsley had all the amenities we needed; toilet and shower being the 2 important ones. But is also a shop, take away, play park as well as dish washing, laundry and waste points.  Another major plus of choosing Holmsley Camping and Caravanning Club Site is the new forest animals.

Cambridge Camping and Caravanning Club– Previous camping trips for us have always been near a beach. This was the first time that we were planning on pretty much staying put. Even so, there was still lots to do around the site.

However, we need some more meal ideas to try and change things up. Do you have any suggestions?

I'm not ready for this, to have all my children in secondary school and no one left in primary. It's been a journey, but boy is he ready for his next adventure!

I hope everyone got the options they wanted!
