We received complimentary tickets to Fire on the Water: Beach Edition Great Yarmouth

During October Half Term Mark and I took the boys for a day trip to Great Yarmouth. We are working with Visit Great Yarmouth to share with you all some of the great attractions available to visit. During the day we had a lovely time visiting Great Yarmouth Sealife Centre, as well as having lunch at Sara’s TeaRoom and then in the afternoon we visited Merrivale Model Village. We had a couple of hours to ourselves to play on the beach and grab some chips to eat. The boys loved cartwheeling on the sand, and it was lovely to just sit back and soak in the sea air.

Fire on the Water: Beach Edition

The last attraction on our list for the day was the Fire On the Beach exhibit from Out There Arts. The evening transformed a section of the beach in flames and it was an amazing experience and definitely worth a visit.

From the moment we arrived we were in awe with everything around us. The boys loved the fire and Mark and I appreciated the thought and creativeness that had gone into each element. Fire on The Water: Beach Edition is a collection of pieces created by artists all using pyrotechnics to really bring it all to life.

The event was accessible for wheelchair uses as well as pushchairs, even with accessible queues available. There were mats all over the sand to ensure it remained accessible even across the sand. As well as all the artwork, there were plenty of food and drink options if you wanted to try some amazing foods.

To mark Diwali there was also a tent for children to make lanterns and candle holders which they were then able to release onto little streams of water. It looked amazing seeing all the candles floating and the boys loved having that moment to get creative.

Fire on the Water: Beach Edition was sponsored by Visit Great Yarmouth and Interreg Experience. There was entertainment on the performance stage, we watched a fire eater and a couple dancing, it was rather entrancing to watch. The boys were on the edge!

We really loved the mechanical dragon, it was a huge exhibit with a dragon perched above the arena, you could see the dragon from pretty much every angle of the whole area. There were also plaques with quotes and images on.4

We really had a wonderful time, and it was an experience we will not forget! If you ever get the chance to visit Fire on the Water then I can totally recommend you go!

However, we need some more meal ideas to try and change things up. Do you have any suggestions?
