So last weeks meal plan didn’t exactly go to…erm plan. The weather was glorious and we wanted to make the absolute most of it! The one thing being in lock down has taught me is having to make the most of what we have. We used to get our food delivered once a week and then I would pick up some little bits on the way from the school run. However I haven’t been able to do that, getting a delivery slot is like gold dust and all the little shops I had been doing seems to be counter productive.
So what I have been doing is getting a bulk meat order as well as fruit and veg and then picking up what I can, when I can. I have also decided to no longer list my meals in particular day order. I like that we can swap and choose what we have so I want my meal plan to reflect that.
So here is my meal plan
One of the biggest things to come from being in lockdown is how Arthur is trying new foods. His recent food that he likes is mash potato!! So we decided to try him with Shepard Pie. Growing up it was one of those meals I really hated! however give me mash potato and mince side by side and I would eat the lot.
I love being able to have the time to prepare foods for the boys. A few years back when we used to get a butcher delivery, we lived off meals that was cooked from scratch. However that soon stopped and we resorted back to convenience. The chicken we bought from the butcher is lovely and tastes great as Homemade Chicken Nuggets so it is on the menu this week.
I think we maybe pushing Arthur’s luck when it comes to food. He hates Jacket Potato however it is so underestimated as a meal. I have no idea what I will make instead, maybe a sandwich or something.
The boys absolute, all time favourite meal Pizza. We love making our own pizza dough and the boys make different designs. However this week I have puff pastry to use, so I am going to make a mixture of pizza. One using puff pastry and the other with homemade pizza dough.
Our butchers have the most amazing Sausages. So it seems right that at one point during the week we have Sausage and chips. Well, wedges as we no longer buy frozen chips. It takes up value space in our freezer.
It seems to be a favourite week this week as Spaghetti bolognaise is another of their favourite meals.
and finally, it wouldn’t be Sunday without our usual Chicken roast dinner.

That’s great news about Arthur trying new foods. My youngest used to hate mashed potato when it was in Shepards pie but would eat mash and mince side by side too. lol
I have fallen out with our local butcher because he’s put all his prices up which is so unfair because people rely on him.
Great meal plan. x
Homemade chicken nuggets sound delicious – real comfort food but miles tastier I bet! Hope you and your family are keeping well lovely x
