This weeks meal plan
Earlier on in the week I published a post on my Facebook page asking for some meal ideas. Like many other families we seem to be eating the same things over and over again. So this week I am taking inspiration from others. As I said a few weeks back, I am no longer listing my meals for particular days. I find that some days we just don’t fancy what I planned.
Saturday, Mark and I celebrate our 11th Wedding Anniversary. Every year we celebrate by having a Steak Dinner with all the trimmings. Grilled peppers, onion rings and homemade wedges. One of the meals suggested was homemade chicken balls and sweet and sour sauce. I am really looking forward to trying this out and I think this is going to be really popular with the boys. It also seems really simple and easy to make.
Another great suggestion was Pulled Pork, Jack and Oliver really enjoy it but again, it is another meal that Arthur wouldn’t touch. So I will have to come up with something else for him. A couple of other suggestions were Homemade Pasta Carbonara, Homemade Southern Fried Chicken and Panka Coated Chicken with Peppers and Sweet Chilli. It all sounds really lovely and I can’t wait to try the new ideas on the boys. As a family we love our Roast Dinners on a Sunday. It’s a lovely opportunity for us to come together and talk about our week.

Happy Anniversary for tomorrow lovely x
We have steak as a treat for our wedding anniversary as well, have a lovely meal. My boys are cooking a lot as well its lovely to see. your meals sound lovely and really nice
Mr S’s favourite treat is a steak dinner. I love to see kids cooking!
It’s hard finding interesting meals that everyone will eat isn’t it. I’ve only got one relatively unfussy child, but the OH is so anti several cuisines that it limits those I can try. The chicken balls recipe sounds nice (sweet and sour isn’t popular with my other 2 though – sigh)
It sounds like the boys had a great time helping out in the kitchen.
Happy anniversary to you and Mark!
Ahh! We love chicken balls, rice and sweet & sour sauce. It’s been ages since we had it. Fab ideas x
Happy Anniversary.
I find getting the kids to help is a lot of fun, and it’s a good skill for them to have. The pulled pork sounds amazing. My lot would like that.
