Our 2020 camping adventures! | The Mum Diaries

For the past couple of years we have all grown to really love our camping adventures. It gives us so many opportunities to create amazing memories that hopefully we can all cherish. Other than the trip that shall not be named (which is a shame because the campsite was amazing), we have been really fortunate in our camping experiences. And let’s face it that trip was doomed before we even left our driveway! Literally! The car didn’t move for about 5 days thanks to a short fuse that caused our starter motor to burn out! When we finally made it to Wales, galeforce winds happened….anyways I am not dwelling on that trip! Sleeping in the car was bound to happen at some point, wasn’t it?

This year with a brand new tent in tow, we are planning a whole host of different trips! Mark and I have sat together and highlighted his weekends off the next year and we are booking a camp trip for each of them! I do wish that he had a 9-5 Monday to Friday job. We would have so many more opportunities, but he loves his job and that can be pretty rare to come by!

Our plans!

Soup in the open, cooking whilst camping

So, we are hoping to kick start our camping season this month!! The earliest we have ever camped. It will be cold, let’s face it! But we are more prepared than we were last year! and we are staying a few minutes up the road at Sacrewell Farm! We are hoping to then visit a few more places such as Woodhall Spa, Conkers, Kessingland to name a few! As we can only camp for 1/2 nights max at a time we are rather limited on where to travel, so we are trying to stay within a 2 hour radius of Peterborough. It will hopefully then enable us to leave on a Friday and make the most of the weekend!

Whenever we go out, I always check the local National Trust/English Heritage sites. We have been members for a few years and it’s handy to use as a day out or even somewhere to go for a few hours! I also love looking up local woods/streams and seeing whats happening during our stay! So here is a small insight into our camping adventures for this year!

I would love to hear your plans?

However, we need some more meal ideas to try and change things up. Do you have any suggestions?

I'm not ready for this, to have all my children in secondary school and no one left in primary. It's been a journey, but boy is he ready for his next adventure!

I hope everyone got the options they wanted!
