During 2020 we managed to make a couple of camping trips however we want to go on alot more! So I thought I would look into places we can camp during 2021.
Madhatters Camping and Glamping, Ely
We had so much fun during our first visit and the boys have been asking to come back. So I want to make sure that we make another visit during 2021. Mark and I were really impressed with how well the site handled Covid and how rigid their policies and procedures were. We all felt really safe and I think that was super important, so I want to return.

Merthyr Farm, North Wales
During 2019 we had booked a week at Merthyr Farm in Wales. However everything that could go wrong did, our car wouldn’t start, the garage took ages to fix it and when we did arrive, our tent didn’t survive the second night. I want to return so we can have the stay we had planned.
Thetford Forest
We do love a forest holiday! A few years ago we went to The New Forest and it was amazing to wake up to the ponies just on the outskirts of the camp site. Thetford isn’t too far for us and I haven’t been since I was an AirCadet. So I would love to go back and bring the boys with me.
Rutland
We don’t live too far from Rutland and as my dad is from Oakham I would love to take the boys and camp. I imagine there are some lovely camping spots too!
Sherwood Forest
Another forest camp. Everytime we drive up north we drive past Sherwood Forest so I’d like to camp there and explore. It’s associated with Robin Hood, which the boys love, so another reason to visit too!
Of course all our visits are depending on Mark’s work and his rota. It’s such a shame we just can’t go ahead and book rather than having to wait a little closer to the time. However knowing the areas we want to go early on in the camping season helps me to plan a little better!
If you have been to a campsite in Thetford Forest, Rutland and/or Sherwood Forest and can recommend it, please let me know!
