Day 1 – About Me….A year on

Happy 1st of October and also the start of Blogtober. For the past couple of years the start of blogtober has always been a little all about me intro so if you want to read last years you can here. A year is such a long time so let’s have a little catch up.

A year on …

Blogtober a year on

There isn’t a great deal of change to be honest. We are all moving forwards and everyone seems to be doing really well at school/work. Jack is now in Year 5 and this week is the start of the secondary school look rounds. It is scary to think that this time next year we will be submitting his application for secondary school. Jack is still at cubs and his jumper is getting covered! We haven’t spoken much about joining Scouts but that is all to come.

Oliver is now in Year 2. The last year of Key Stage 1. He has a pretty awesome teacher who will help to bring the best out of him. There has been a few little incidents amongst his friends but he is either a super sleuth or just not too bothered as he hasn’t been in trouble because of it.

The biggest change this year is with Arthur. He started school a month ago! He is loving being there and although we had a few hiccups those seem to have gone. Every morning now I am able to say goodbye and there are no more tears! He comes out of school with smiles on his face and he has just started telling me what he has been up too!

What about the adults?

This year Mark and I celebrated our 9 year wedding anniversary. We had a bit of a whirlwind romance when we first met, so we also celebrated our 10 year anniversary of just being together too. I am trying to come up with some plans on how we can celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary next year so if anyone has any ideas, I would love to hear them!

Now the boys are at school I am working full time on the blog. So far I haven’t been as dedicated as first thought, thanks to half days at school and meetings. However this week, I am planning on spending all my time on my blog and I have even written a schedule!

Blogtober plans

I am super excited to be taking part in Blogtober again. There are some pretty awesome prompts, (read here for a sneak peek). Until tomorrow….

Thankyou for joining in again, I LOVE the matching pjs, I am very tempted to get them for us all too, so glad everyone is getting on well at school, Viggo has just started in reception too, but I still have tears every day! No ideas for a 10 year wedding anniversary celebration, we have just celebrated our 17th and we have been together 22 years, and we haven’t done anything special, I have seen a couple of people renew their vows on 10th anniversary, but I think i’ll wait until maybe 25th!!
Looking forward to finding out how everyone approaches the prompts xxx

Happy Anniversary :o) We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary by going on holiday for a week, just the 2 of us. It was really lovely to just concentrate on each other for a change. Of course, this was only possible because my mum was able to come and stay for the week to look after the children.

  5. 1st October 2018 / 11:43 am

Oooh a blogging schedule? I’ve had one for 7 years and am yet to tick off all the jobs on the right day! Hope you’re more successful than I am haha!

    • 1st October 2018 / 8:34 pm

It has only been a couple of weeks so the schedule will most likely get thrown away!

  6. 1st October 2018 / 11:44 am

LOVE your jammies! Sounds like you’re all nice and settled. Hope it stays that way! Good luck juggling part time school days and blogging with all the other mum jobs haha!

Finding the blogging/household balance is incredibly hard isn’t it. From September I have given myself three office days and 2 housework days and then the weekend. So far it is working really well and I am focusing so much more on actually getting things done instead of watching Grey’s Anatomy constantly 😉
    Lovely to meet you #Blogtober18

Lovely to get to know you in this post. Sounds like your children are going to have a busy academic year – I remember year five being the first time I started to realise my grades mattered haha. Also – thanks so much for the mention! Looking forward to following you!

  11. 1st October 2018 / 9:36 pm

Lovely blog! your two eldest are in the same years as my two, years 5 and 2. This week we are also looking at secondary schools of which I am in serious denial about… they aren’t old enough for secondary schools yet! Looking forward to reading more from you over the coming weeks.

  12. 2nd October 2018 / 7:41 am

I’m loving all your matching stars too!

  13. 2nd October 2018 / 7:48 pm

I love the photo of you all wearing the same.
I found my plans for my blog didn’t go as plan, they never do, always something that needs doing, or cleaning takes longer than first thought, or my daughter will ‘pop’ round for hours haha.
It is great to ‘meet’ you. #Blogtober18

Hi, Lovely to read a bit about you, Kim said she met you at the Jamie Oliver event with her little sister, they had a ball that day. Tilly is in year 4 so its time to start looking at secondary schools soon. How scary!
