Family Seat – Brought and tested!

The Family Seat – 1 seat for all needs!

Arthur is 3 in November, and the topic of toilet training keeps cropping up in conversation. We live in a semi-detached 3 bedroom house, with 1 toilet! 1 Toilet for the whole family and now plus Arthur. So we were on the look out for something which would be easy to use, and not take up too much space in our bathroom.

With Jack we had a potty in pretty much every room and he slowly transitioned onto the toilet. We chose a date, New years day and we just went with it, he didn’t have many accidents and he took to toilet training remarkably well!

With Oliver we had a potty in the lounge and a seat that you place on top of the toilet seat. Again, we chose a date, Easter Monday and went with it. Oliver in the beginning was great, not too many accidents and he used both potty and toilet really well. But we are still having an accident more often than we would like. He still occasionally wets the bed too.

I First came across FamilySeat from a visit to Kiddicare, they have the seats installed in all their toilets in the bathroom. I loved the idea of the seats and thought they would be fab!

After speaking to David from FamilySeat on the phone, we decided the Talia seat would be great for our family. It is the most heaviest seat in the range but has a soft close function, so no more trapped fingers or loud bangs! I placed the order online and a few days later it arrived by courier.

It arrived!20160720_125050

The seat arrived with free reward chart and door hangers too!
Mark started to remove our seat and replace it with the new FamilySeat, which he said was really easy to do!

The boys found it really great trying to forcefully close the seat, but they couldn’t!

We have been using the seat now for a week and although the smallest seat is too small for Jack, it is working really well for Oliver and Arthur. Arthur enjoys getting his stool and can get onto the toilet himself with no help. When we do decide to fully concentrate on toileting him we know he can get on and off with no worries.

The only issue we have found with the seat, and we are not sure if it is the design of our toilet cistern lid rather than the seat, but when all seats are upright the main seat just falls down. So whilst cleaning I am having to hold onto the seat so it doesn’t land on me! But that is the only flaw, and regardless we do love it! and it is transforming our toileting with the boys, and make the bathroom look ever so slightly not having a potty/removable seat and stool clogging up the space!

I am quite proud of myself for removing our old toilet seat and installing a new one with no one to help me x

I have to admit most of this is something I have never had to do, the wife always seems to just fix stuff!
