Are you looking for a list of local events celebrating the Kings Coronation then look no further.

King Charles III’s Coronation will be taking place on Saturday 6th May and will be crowned alongside Camilla, the Queen Consort. There will be an additional bank holiday on Monday 8th May for everyone to have the opportunity to take part in celebratory events.

To mark the Coronation thousands of organisations up and down the country will be getting together to give us the chance to help out in our local communities. You can download the app here.

Friday 5th May

2pm – Royal Connections tour of the Cathedral – Tickets priced £8. Book tickets on the Cathedral’s website

4pm to 8pm – Crowns and Carriages event. Celebration in St John’s Church including music, fashion show with historic costumes, flower displays, craft activities, carriages, exhibits and refreshments. St John’s Church PE1 1XB.

Royal Connections tour of the Cathedral @ Peterborough Cathedral – £8 per person –

10am-4pm – Coronation Exhibition – The Community Gallery will be displaying memorabilia from past coronations. There will be a family trail around the museum exploring royal connections in our collections.

Saturday 6th May

10am-2pm – Screening of Coronation – Held both indoors and outdoors at Peterborough Cathedral. Free of charge and no need to book. If you are planning on attending, please register your interest on Eventbrite, so we can plan ahead for capacity and facilities required.

1pm – Community Procession – From the front of the Cathedral to the Guildhall.

1.30pm – Coronation Outdoor World Food Picnic – Held in the Cathedral grounds with a range of food vans available serving international cuisines. Those attending can also bring their own food and blankets.

4pm – Coronation Concert at the Cathedral – Featuring the stunning voice of Gabriella, mezzo-soprano and performances from Lucy’s Pop Choir, Peterborough Community Gospel Choir and Tu danse. Tickets £3. To book, visit the Cathedral’s website

In addition, throughout the day there will be children’s craft activities taking place along with tours of the Cathedral available.

10am-4pm – St John’s Church will be open for mini screenings with refreshments. St John’s Church PE1 1XB.

Live Streaming of the Coronation @ Yaxley Royal British Legion Club – We are showing the Coronation on a big screen, followed by an Opening ceremony with Warwick Davis.
We have a performance from Yaxley Amateur Players, with a ‘Right Royal Rumpus’.
We have a Kid’s Street Party, balloon modelling, decorating a Crown, plus inflatables so they can burn some energy. For the adults we have Simon Lee entertaining us with songs and music, along with many stalls from the local community, food and refreshments.
As the day moves into the evening we have a fantastic group to entertain us ‘Money Shot’ we have plenty of room for you to dance the night away, which many did from the first song, the last time they played for us, which was the Platinum Jubilee, so you could say we have a right Royal band playing for us!!
We hope you will join us to celebrate the Kings Coronation.
May we remind you NO PARKING will be available at the Club on this day, please do not block the roads around the club.

Garden Party @ Harvest Barn – from 9am – Two large screens showing the coronation – Food Trucks and bar, Live Music, Face Painting, Meet Queen Anna, Giant Inflatable and more!

Sunday 7th May

Choral Evensong @ Peterborough Cathedral – 3.30pm – A special service of Choral Evensong attended by civic dignitaries. All are welcome, no need to book a place. Donations are invited.

2pm-4pm – St John’s Church will be open for mini screenings with refreshments. St John’s Church PE1 1XB.

Monday 8th May

Family Fun Day @ Chestnuts Community Centre, 61 Norman Rd – 11am-4pm – Wristbands £3 for unlimited rides and goes on inflatables – Food and drink available

Free Entry to Belton House (National Trust) –

Make some memories with your family and friends and get into the spirit of this special occasion by joining us for a picnic in the gardens.

I'm not ready for this, to have all my children in secondary school and no one left in primary. It's been a journey, but boy is he ready for his next adventure!
