I paid for the meal myself at Ibrahimi Buffet Restaurant
At work when it was suggested we should all meet up for dinner, I was a little sceptical. It was the first time I have eaten out at a restaurant since lock down had happened and I was nervous. The ladies chose to eat at Ibrahimi Buffet Restaurant Peterborough and only having eaten their once before I knew what to expect.
Ibrahimi Buffet Restaurant Peterborough

Ibrahimi Restaurant is a buffet restaurant in Peterborough. With it’s own free car park out the front it is easily accessible. With dishes from China, India, Pakistan plus England and Italy it is truly a multi cultural dining experience.
Last time I visited Ibrahimi Buffet must have been around 10 years ago. My aunt and uncle had come over from Australia and we had a big mass gathering as the restaurant was able to cater to so many different taste buds, even Mark’s. He is such a fussy eater when it comes to food that he tends to just stick with boring beige; Chicken Nuggets, Pizza and Chips. Which Ibrahimi Buffet, do serve.

Covid 19 safety measures
With Covid 19 I was really interested to see how they were able to implement the needed safety measures, especially with it being buffet. Other buffets around Peterborough are no longer offering self serve, however Ibrahimi’s still are.
From the moment we walked the through the door we were warmly greeted. The staff all wore masks and a contact name/number of our party was taken. Everyone also had their temperature taken using an infra-red contact-less thermometer. Once our temperatures were taken we then had to use the hand sanitiser before entering the main restaurant.
Inside, there are floor markings ensuring a one way system is in place. The seating seemed really spaced out too. The buffet was self serve however everyone getting food had to wear masks and follow the one way system which took you past hand sanitiser. There was a member of staff ( I assume he was the owner/one of the owners, he looked rather important) reminding guests to use the hand sanitiser.
The food was delicious and throughout the evening it was getting topped up and the serving spoons were getting changed and cleaned. When guests finished their meals, staff were really quick to ensure that the tables and chairs were cleaned thoroughly before other guests used them.

Overall
Eating out at the moment is certainly a strange time. However, with stringent measures in places it shouldn’t be worrying experience. I loved how smooth everything ran for Ibrahimi’s Buffet, especially being their first re-opening night. So if there were going to be hiccups, then that night would have been the night.
The ladies and I had a great time and it was so lovely to be back eating out and enjoying the local businesses we have in Peterborough.
