How Life Events Affect Property Investment Decisions

Whats On | The best Pumpkin Picking Peterborough – The Mum Diaries

Some big changes are happening to us next week

     The Mum Diaries      1 Comment

It seems crazy to think that it has been 5 week since I last worked and the boys were at school. Everything we seem to have known has changed and we have no idea how long for. As someone who has always wanted to home school to be given the opportunity to trial it has been somewhat, eye opening. I have always had a great deal of respect for school teachers, even more so now. Home schooling for us long term just wouldn’t work.

Big changes are happening

This week I received an email from my boss informing me that demand has increased at work and I am needed to go back. I work in childcare so considered to be a Key worker, as is Mark. Working in childcare has also meant that I haven’t been able to claim full 80% furlough which has been somewhat frustrating. However returning to work early wasn’t something I had necessarily prepared myself for either. I phoned the boys school to see whether they would be able to go back, and they can.

So my big news is from Monday, I am back to work. My family will be having some form of normality and our lives will be in a little  bubble of routine. I am still so apprehensive sending them into school. In an ideal world I would be like everyone else, safely at home with my family. But Mark is still working, he is still going out and mixing with people and seeing people due to his work and then coming back home to us. There is only so many preventive measures you can take.

I am looking forward to going back to work and using the quiet (so much quieter than a usual day) to catch up with families. If anything the time off work has made me all refreshed for my return and I can’t wait.

The boys however hate me, they don’t want to go to school.

Good luck for your new normal. I know it won’t be easy for any of you.
But Thankyou for doing your bit.

However, we need some more meal ideas to try and change things up. Do you have any suggestions?
