Making pizza bruschetta’s with all 3 of the boys!

     The Mum Diaries      3 Comments

20 minutes prep, 5-8 minutes cooking time = Good tasting pizza

Mark and I enjoy cooking, and the boys love to help out. One of our favourite quick and easy meals are Pizza Bruschetta’s. The boys love pizza! We are always trying to come up with different recipes and things the boys can help us with. Pizza bruschetta takes minutes to prepare and minutes to cook. Perfect if you have any leftover French stick left to use or baguette.

We have used leftover baguettes, tomato puree and cheese. Jack wanted Pepperoni and Salami but we can add those on to it for next time, I think he would turn into a Pepperoni given half a chance. All 3 boys got involved and couldn’t wait to get started!

Jack, Oliver and Arthur each had a turn at spreading the puree over their bread. Simple tasks but they seem to really love it! For younger children, you can squeeze the tomato puree onto the baguette ready to be spread across the bread.

The next step was adding grated cheese to our bread, the boys sprinkled the cheese on top. When they finished they each placed their bread onto the baking tray ready for the oven. I pre-heated the oven to 180’c and popped the tray inside. In total, they take around 5-8 minutes to cook which isn’t too bad for an after-school activity. Timings may vary for whichever oven you may have, ours is an electric oven.

When we next make these we are going to have a play around with different toppings;

Salami, Pepperoni, Sweetcorn, Ham and Chicken make a great alternative.

What are your favourite toppings? What do you like to cook?

However, we need some more meal ideas to try and change things up. Do you have any suggestions?

I'm not ready for this, to have all my children in secondary school and no one left in primary. It's been a journey, but boy is he ready for his next adventure!

I hope everyone got the options they wanted!
