Our weekly meal plan

Last time I did meal planning one of my biggest issues was variety. We get stuck in a rut of eating the same meals day in and day out! The boys both have a cooked meal at school but I still like to give them one at home too. They are big eaters and I think if I didn’t offer them a cooked meal, they would eat me out of house and home. Last week our new to us meal was pasta bake. Mark can be somewhat fussy when it comes to foods and he wasn’t entirely sure about it. So I will add it again on next week’s menu. This week our new to us meal is “Sticky Chicken Drummers” the boys have this at school and they like it! I am planning to attempt the sauce myself and see how I do. In all honesty, it could go either way.

Homemade Pizza


Roast Beef Dinner!

The boys favourite food is Pizza! Whether it is shop bought, delivered or made by us. Sometimes we cheat and by ready made bases, but nothing beats a homemade base! The recipe  for the base I use is;


  • 375g (13 oz) plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon caster sugar
  • 7g (1/4 oz) dried active baking yeast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 225ml (8 fl oz) warm water (45 C)

Prep:10min  ›  Cook:25min  ›  Ready in:35min 

  1. Combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl. Mix in oil and warm water. Spread out on a large pizza pan. Top as desired.
  2. Bake at 190 C / Gas mark 5 for 20 to 25 minutes.
