Week 13/52 – Sharing our weekly meal plan with you all

The Mum Diaries      Leave a Comment

It has been awhile since I shared with you our meal plan. I guess what with work, the boys and now Corona virus everything just kind of went crazy. So I decided to get back to some form of normality and share with you our meal plan.
Just like everyone we are struggling somewhat with our usual shopping habits. So I have decided to keep things simple. Thanks to a few local businesses I have been able to get the bulk of our food fresh and delivered. We have now started to get our meat delivered from a local family run butchers and also we have been trying out a few different places for fresh fruit and vegetables. The boys love their fruit and always eat us out of house and home.
Monday
Kicking the week of with Gammon, Egg and Wedges. We have stopped buying frozen chips and opted to buy a large 25kg bag of potatoes instead. It means we can free up much needed freezer space as well as having lots of potatoes which are so versatile to alot of our meals.
Tuesday
The boys are really enjoying rice recently. So Chicken and Rice is on the menu. The boys (and Mark) are rather boring when it comes to food. I am really enjoying Sweet and sour chicken  so I am having that whereas they will literally just have plain chicken and plain rice, most likely topped with ketchup.
Wednesday
Recently Arthur started to eat mince. He has always been the worst one with food and really really picky. However without the tomato based sauce, mince is something he has started to eat. So we are going to have Spaghetti and Mince for tea with Garlic Bread. I am toying with making our own garlic bread. If I can get hold of the ingredients that is.
Thursday
We have been trying to eat the remainder of food from our freezer too since the whole lockdown thing started. Our freezer is tiny considering we are a family of 5 and we want to be able to make the most of it. So we are going to use the last of our Fish Fingers and have them with wedges and Spaghetti hoops! Simple but so loved by the boys!
Friday
Anyone else struggled to get hold of pasta recently? One of the places I have been doing online shopping at is with a wholesalers who have opened to the general public. It has meant I have been able to buy a huge 3kg bag of pasta. So dinner will be Pasta Bake. Tuna for Jack and I and Hot Dogs for the others.
Saturday
Homemade Pizza the boys love helping me to make the dough and making their pizza too. Considering it is all homemade it really doesn’t take long to make but it tastes delicious! I will use the opportunity on Saturday to take photos and I will share our recipe with you the following week.
Sunday
Just because it is lock down doesn’t mean our Sunday eating habits have changed. Those that follow my blog, particularly the meal plans know every Sunday without fail is a roast dinner day. Unless it’s Christmas, then we have a break from eating them around November for the build up of Christmas Day dinner. Which for us is just a glorified roast dinner with a few extras! Anyone else share our love for roast dinners?

However, we need some more meal ideas to try and change things up. Do you have any suggestions?
