Monday Meal Time Planning – W/C 5th June! – The Mum Diaries

     The Mum Diaries      8 Comments

where on earth has the time gone? We are half way through the year already and the boys went back to school today! Although the meal planning is all still relatively new for me to blog about I am enjoying all the planning. Last week was a little different as we went camping and it was our first time taking the kids. Previously Mark and I would just live off spam (remember spam!?) and fry ups but we had to think a little harder for the boys.

We thought if we brought a big bag of pasta then we could take tinned Hot Dogs, Meatballs etc but we ran into a bit of a problem. It ended up taking almost half an hour to just boil the pan of water for the pasta let alone actually cook it! In the end we ate barely cooked pasta and decided we needed to rethink our meals. A quick trip to the local camping shop and one evening we ate a tin of beans and sausages with bread and butter and the other night we had a BBQ on the beach!

This Week

So this week was a little different because I went shopping today rather than going tomorrow. The boys have a clubs on Tuesday so dinner will be something quick and easy for them.

Monday

Spaghetti Bolognaise – The boys favourite dish! I think given half a choice they would choose to have this everynight!

Tuesday

Chicken Nuggets and Chips – Like I said before both boys have clubs so it needs to be something quick and easy!

Wednesday

Chicken and Bacon Pie, buttered potatoes, Sweetcorn and green beans

Thursday

Sausage, Mash and Onion Gravy!

Friday

Fish in Sauce and Pasta! – It has been awhile since we last had this meal!

Ahh! The camping sounds like fun. It’s a learning process. You now know about the pasta for next time.
Monday night is our after school club/quick night. It makes sense to make something quick and easy. Chicken Nuggets and Chips is just perfect.
Yum! It sounds like you have a tasty week planned! x

However, we need some more meal ideas to try and change things up. Do you have any suggestions?
