Meal Planning Monday – W/c 23rd July – Summer Holidays

     The Mum Diaries      7 Comments

Anyone else struggle meal planning when its the holidays? The boys seem to eat the same things day in, day out at least with school they had a bit of variety! I am taking on inspiration from the school dinner planner for the dinners this week! The boys last day of school was Wednesday last week so we spent the next couple of days just relaxing. I think it is important that children are able to relax and spend time doing what they want during the school holidays. IF everyday is busy then when will they have the chance to relax before school starts?

Last week I made homemade pulled pork I thought it would be cheaper than Aldi’s version. It certainly didn’t taste the same but it was lovely nonetheless.

Meal Planning Monday

Monday

!!!!BBQ!!!! Mark`s dad is traveling down to see us all so we are having a family BBQ. Mark`s sister and her little one is also coming so it is going to be great! The Wine has been ordered as has the food! Burgers, Sausages and Chicken Legs!!

Tuesday

Mark`s day off so I am thinking we can spend the afternoon making pizza’s with the boys! We didn’t have this last week so still have the meats in the fridge!

Wednesday

The boys favourite meal at school is Mini Sausage & Bacon & Yorkshire Puddings! They tell me they have them with new potatoes and veg but I may make roasties instead!

Thursday

Normally on a Wednesday we visit my Grandpop but this week he is due at the hospital. So I am not sure what is happening with our plans to seeing him. I think we will probably nip in today to say hello. Jack and Oliver haven’t seen him in a few months. Dinner will be Sausage, Mash and Peas!

Friday

Today I am going to take the boys out! Not sure where yet but they will be having their Yumbox lunch boxes filled with their lunches. Dinner will probably be something really quick and easy depending on the time we are due back. I am thinking Pasta, Hot Dogs, Sweetcorn and Peas, Cheese and for me Tuna! My mum used to make this towards the end of the month as it was our “nothing left in the cupboards dinner and money is due in a few days!”

Saturday

Chicken and Rice sounds great and something different to what we usually eat. So we can have this today!

Sunday

Today is my nieces 3rd birthday! Time has flown by so much since when she was born. Not sure what my sister has planned so dinner will either be our trusty roast dinner or whatever is planned.

I also struggle with meal plans sometimes. It’s nice to think of different dinners every week but sometimes I have a mind blank. Xx

However, we need some more meal ideas to try and change things up. Do you have any suggestions?

I'm not ready for this, to have all my children in secondary school and no one left in primary. It's been a journey, but boy is he ready for his next adventure!

I hope everyone got the options they wanted!
