5 Camping Activities to keep kids entertained

We all know how tiring it can be when we go camping with children. Especially if you are like us and choose to camp with no electric hook up. These 5 activities will keep your children entertained and small enough to pack in the car!

Our top 5 activities to keep children entertained whilst camping!

Board Games/Card Games

I think board/card games rank pretty high on activity lists. One game we particularly like at the moment is Plyt. Plyt is a great game and it encourage children with their numbers. So learning whilst not really knowing that they are learning is fab! Suitable for children of all ages too.

Pull back glider/ Frisbee/ Ball

These can keep my boys entertained for hours! Other than the ball they don’t take a lot of space to pack up either. The pull back glider provided loads of fun! The boys loved chasing the glider and aiming for the skies!

Treasure/Nature Hunt

Depending on where you are camping (i.e Beach, forest, field) you can create a tick list of what to keep an eye out for. You can either create a tick list for animals you may see, or of your surroundings. Or it can be a fun people tick list . A fellow blogger Father Fitness has created a great PDF to enjoy on his blog.

Take a couple of books for your children to read or for you to read to them. Encourages reading but also helps children to relax and see reading as an enjoyment out of school.

Paper and colouring pencils

Seems like an obvious choice but there is so many different activities you can do with just paper and pencils. Giving your children the creative freedom they can make their own games, their own nature trails, write stories and make memories of their camping trips. Alternatively colouring in books/sheets are also great ideas to pack with you. The photo above is a colouring in table cloth from Phoenix Trading, it folds up compact and has loads of little pictures to colour in.
