Zhu Zhu Pets Review

My history with pets isn’t amazing. The thought of having a pet excites me and then the novelty wears off. I am then left with a small defenceless animal that I have to look after. It is no longer fun or exciting, it is boring and a chore. That is until I received a pretty awesome bundle in the post. Zhu Zhu Pets. I have seen these on the tv and looked at them in the magazines. Since laying my eyes on them I have wanted one. Just to see what they are like and how fun they may be.Zhu Zhu Pet hamsters Chunk and Mr Squiggles, Adventure Ball and Hamster Wheel and Tunnel

Zhu Zhu Pets Chunk and Mr Squiggles

Zhu Zhu Pets are interactive plush hamsters which are interactive and can navigate around any space. The Zhu Zhu Hamsters have sensors in their nose, one on its head and another on its back. All that is needed to get started is to press the button which is on their back. It will then start to navigate its way around. If it hits a wall? No worries it will reverse and go in a new direction. Touching the hamsters head will slow it down and eventually, after a few minutes it will stop moving and making sounds. Press the back button for 3 seconds and they go into Dance Mode. Each Zhu Zhu pet has different moves which help to keep them unique.

We received 2 x Hamsters Chunk and Mr Squiggles as well as the Hamster Wheel and Tunnel and the Hamster Ball. I was more excited over the ball than anything else as this is what I envisage when I think of Hamsters.

Hamster Wheel and Tunnel

There is a lot to build but all in all it only took a few minutes. Each white piece is alphabetized to help with building. It was relatively simple though.

The idea is the hamster starts at the bottom, you press it’s back and off it goes up the tube to the wheel. It will then climb onto the wheel and continue to move until it climbs back down. They sometimes need a little nudge to help move them but they can do it on their own.

Adventure Ball

I was so excited to receive the adventure ball! Placing your hamster on a small bit of plastic (It helps it to glide in the ball) and then placing your hamster in the ball it will roam around. Pretty much like you would expect a normal pet hamster to behave. It is really simple to put together although I had to realign it a few times. The door is simple to open and close too,

The boys were really impressed especially, Oliver. He loved watching Chunk and Mr Squiggles moving around the living room and spent ages playing with them.

The Zhu Zhu Pets can be bought from most toy shops and are priced at £12.99.

The Adventure Ball is priced at £9.99

The Hamster Wheel and Tube is priced at £14.99 (It also connects to other playsets too!)

Now that it is a really cool idea and I love that the hamsters are interactive without you needing to have the responsibility of having to feed them! x

Exactly! I don’t have the time to really have a pet dependant on me to feed, clean and play with it.

I used to have something similar to these when I was younger! I adored my robotic hamster! I had a pet without being responsible for keeping it alive. Now I have two live hamsters and a doggo and I wouldn’t change them for the world!

I always wanted one of these when I was a child, I can’t believe they’re still going! Looks like they enjoyed playing with them hehe! And they’re sure cleaner and less smelly than a real pet 😉 x

One of my nanny childrens new favourite toys are robots and he gets fascinated when they bump into something and manovers around. I think he would like these little toy hamsters as they are similar just a bit nicer looking! Plus he wants a pet, these a lot less maintence!

I’ve always had pets and I’ve loved the experience. I miss having them, but it just doesn’t make sense to commit to a pet for where I am at the moment. But I love these!! I may get one for myself because I had hamsters as a child and I did like taking care of them.

Oh! These are cute! I love how interactive they are. Zhu Zhu Pets are great alternative for those who love to have a hamster pet but can’t have the live one. It’s a great gift idea for kids. They’ll definitely love these.
