Travel Kids Club – Our review
We like to go on holiday, but the most exotic place we have been is to Wales! We would love to take the boys abroad and for them to experience other cultures and experiences but at the moment that is on hold. Other than the Tele or the internet it can be quite difficult to spark conversation about other cultures to the boys. Jack has started to talk more and more about what he is learning at school and has really got into learning about other countries. I was given the opportunity to review Travel Kids Club so I jumped at the chance. Travel Kids Club is a monthly subscription club aimed at children aged 6-11. Their aim is to give children the confidence in the choices they make, to inspire children to be curious about the world they live.
When the pack arrived it came addressed to him. This was a big hit straight away. Jack doesn’t receive a lot of mail so this really did make his day. The envelope is so colourful too! Jack loved the stamps! I thought it made a great touch to the pack!
Inside the envelope was so many different activities and some stickers too! This month’s country was Colombia.
The booklet was great! and so informative and personalised with Jack’s name which was great! Jack learnt so much. He even attempted to speak Spanish!
Along with the great booklet we also learnt to play a traditional Colombian game called Tejo.
One of the best things about Travel Kids Club and what makes this travel subscription club different to others is the ability to make a difference. Included in the pack is your child’s chance to vote for their favourite charitable cause. Jack had the option whether to help towards donating a computer to a school to help aide children’s learning. Or, to help kids learn about their environment and how to look after it. Jack chose the latter. He wanted to help keep the ocean clear for the fish. This sparked a great conversation about our oceans and what happens to things that get thrown away.
There was some colouring sheets and word puzzles too. Along with a piece of paper for Jack to draw on, he had to draw his favourite place in the world. There is also the option to enter the drawing into a competition to win some goodies.
Jack really enjoyed receiving the pack! Colombia is such a fascinating county and it really opened Jack’s eyes to where other children live. It created so many opportunities to talk and discus about a range of different topics too.
