Oregon Scientific Smart Globe Myth

Ever since the boys were little they have been inquisitive. They often ask questions about the world around them and although some are really easy to answers others are not. We have family living in Australia and they have grandparents who often travel abroad for their holidays. So recently the questions have been a little more regular. I have always wanted to buy them a world map, more specifically a globe. It would be a lovely way to show them the world and they could see how planet earth looks. Recently we were asked to review the Smart Globe Myth by Oregon Scientific. Knowing the boys love for knowledge it seemed perfect!

Smart Globe Myth

The Smart Globe Myth is a 2 in 1 globe that by day shows Planet Earth, countries and all. In the evening it transforms into a illuminated map of 88 constellations. But that isn’t all! Built within the globe are 12 constellation stories and 10 fairy tales, which in the evening has been really lovely to have played. What I love about the Smart Globe Myth is that it is ready to use straight out of the box. Batteries are included and there is nothing to build. Which when you place something as exciting as the globe in front of 3 boys is vital!

We have been alternating our bedtime stories so some nights the boys have been listening to the fairy tales which are;

  • Hansel and Gretel,
  • Rumpelstiltskin
  • 3 Little Pigs
  • Rapunzel
  • Little Red Riding Hood,
  • The Three Little Bears
  • Jack And The Beanstalk
  • The Ugly Ducking
  • Princess and the Pea
  • The Gingerbread Man

Augmented Reality

Smart Globe Myth

Another feature that sets the Smart Globe Myth above many others is the augmented reality. The App is free to download on both Android and IOS systems. The app includes animals, landmarks, weather, dinosaurs and even food! As well as using Wikipedia to learn all about the different countries, their flags and capital cities. Knowledge can then be put to the test with a little quick firing multiple answer test. It has been great with Jack as it combine 2 of the things that interest him most, technology and knowledge.

The Smart Globe Myth is aimed at children 5 years+ and all 3 of the boys have enjoyed aspects of it. Oliver has been really getting into learning about the different constellations whereas Arthur enjoys listening to the stories. Myth is available for £39.99 and can be bought from places like amazon.
