Review | Our MuscleFoods Xmas Hamper! – Christmas Dinner!

Being completely transparent here, I offered to write this post for MuscleFoods. The Xmas Hamper was part of another campaign which I had completed However due to a mix up I received another Xmas Turkey Hamper. Rather than it go to waste, I gave it away to a local family. I offered to write a review of our Christmas dinner AFTER Christmas.

Christmas Dinner is always a big affair in my house! It is the one meal I really enjoy cooking and I go all out. Pigs in blankets, sausages, homemade roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese literally the whole shebang! This year thanks to Muscle Foods I didn’t need to fend off other supermarket customers, as my Christmas dinner was being delivered. I really couldn’t wait.

Muscle Foods Xmas Turkey Hamper

various vegetables in bowls, as well as a bowl full of chipolata sausages and another bowl of stuffing balls from MuscleFoods

The Hamper when it arrived was huge! It included;

  • 3.2kg Whole Turkey
  • 4x Rib Eye steaks
  • 20x Pigs In Blankets
  • 24x Sausage and Sage stuffing balls
  • Bacon wrapped Brie bomb
  • Bacon Bubble and Squeak
  • Pack of Sausage meat
  • 10x chipolatas
  • 2x packs of fatty bacon, perfect to make more pigs in blankets or wrap the turkey.
  • as well as foil baking trays, truffles, white chocolate tree
  • and a rather handy tea towel.

It all came packaged in 2 boxes which came with gel ice packs. I thought the ice packs would come in really useful in the summer whilst we go camping!

Our Christmas Dinner

A bowl of mixed vegetables at the bottom left of the photo, top left is a bowl of chipolata sausages. The top is a large plate with a single christmas cracker across. Below to the right is a medium sized tin foil tray with sliced turkey and gravy.

We cooked the whole Turkey on Christmas Eve as it takes a huge weight of cooking Christmas dinner on the day. Usually we slice and then add gravy before reheating in the oven and this didn’t change with having Turkey. The only thing I would maybe suggest for future hampers would be to include the vegetables too! Although around Christmas most supermarkets sell fresh vegetables for 29p, it would make it easier not having to go to a supermarket. We found all the meat really tasty and easy to cook with all the cooking guidelines easily found online.

Mark and I loved having the hamper so hopefully next Christmas we will be having the same!

* We received the Xmas Hamper in exchange for a previous collaboration. I wanted to write a review.
