As an adult, it isn’t very often I get excited about new household cleaning products. To be honest I can think of numerous other things that I love and cleaning products is pretty much at the bottom. But, then I come across something that I love and I want to shout about. Ecover has recently released a new Non-Bio Laundry concentrated detergent suitable for sensitive skin. The boys have bouts of eczema every now and again so we try to be a little more cautious when choosing our detergent. Since falling pregnant with Arthur my skin also has been incredibly sensitive, even more so than the boys. So for our family, it was important to find a detergent that was suitable for us all!
Our Laundry Routine!
I am a mum of 3 boys, and I live by the motto “you only live once”. Although laundry is the bane of my life I don’t mind the boys running around the fields. This pretty much means 9 times out of 10 one of them will fall over and with the weather like it is, the ground is bogging! 2 of the boys go to school and Arthur attends playschool. When they get home the uniform is normally covered in food/paint/mud (delete as applicable), they tend to strip to their underwear and either put on their onesies or wear a dressing grown. It pretty much means every week as a family we can easily fill our washing basket 7 times!
Which means that my washing machine is in constant use!
Ecover Laundry Detergent
The Laundry Detergent we received was Lavender and Sandalwood. I’m not really a lavendery person, so although I could smell it, It smelt like bubble mixture! So it was a smell I could stand and to be honest I rather like the smell of bubble mixture. When washed the clothes smell lush! I mean seriously, It’s like leaving scent flower bombs wherever we walk!
Ecover has been around for quite awhile since 1979 to be precise. I thought they were a relatively new brand so it was reassuring to know they’re not. Ecover uses plant-based biodegradable ingredients which means the detergent is eco-friendly AND Cruelty-Free (no animals were harmed in the process of the creating the detergent).
89% of 239 Mumsnet testers recently said they would recommend this to their friends and 85% said they would buy again. I think that speaks volumes.
We have loved trying out the new Ecover Non-Bio Laundry detergent. Our skin hasn’t been affected and our clothes are smelling greater than ever!
