A couple of months back Oliver went to his best friends house and there he played with an Inflatable Remote Control BB-8. I hadn’t come across them before and watched to see how Oliver interacted with it. It seemed pretty robust and I popped it in the back of my head as a possible Christmas present. It wasn’t until a few weeks later when I went to BlogOn (a conference held in Manchester for bloggers) where I met the brand Bladez Toyz. On their stand was not only the range of inflatable R/C toys but also featured the Hot Wheel RC Bladez Drone Racerz! .
They got in touch recently to ask if we wanted to review a couple of inflatable RC’s from the Star Wars range. Currently, you are able to buy Kylo Ren, Darth Vader, BB-8, Yoda, Stormtrooper, R2-D2, XL R2-D2 and of course BB-8. We said yes and chose R2-D2 and the Stormtrooper. Bladez Toyz also sent us Mel the Minion from the new Despicable Me3 film (which we are yet to see!) for Arthur to try too!
What’s in the box
Each box contains an instruction manual, repair patch, remote control and the drive unit with the inflatable body attached. Which when deflated is rather small. The remote control is really easy and simple to use too! You can either move forwards or in a spin. The Drive unit takes 4 AA Batteries and the Controller takes 2AA. They also vary in height, the stormtrooper stands a whopping 47cm (18.5″) high! R2D2 stands at 42cm (16.5″) and Mel the Minion stands at 35cm (13.7″).
It was really simple to set up a multiplayer mode so they could all play together. Simply wait 10 seconds after using the first one before you use the second one. All 3 boys have loved playing with each of the inflatable RC.
See it in action!
