#Blogtober17 – Day 2 – Babies

Day 2 of #Blogtober17 is here already If you want to catch up yesterday’s is here. Today’s topic is about Babies! and I have had 3! I always knew I would love to be a mum and that I loved kids (hence a career in childcare) so when Mark and I first started dating it was discussed early on. He is one of 2 and I am one of 5 and love being surrounded by siblings. We both talked about the “Perfect Number” and how many we would want for our family. Although we didn’t agree on a number, we both did agree that we wanted an even amount of children. Not 1 or 3 but 2 or 4. We have 3 so another is on the cards. But not yet! 1

I fell pregnant with Jack within 6 months of our relationship and we were so excited! He was born 13 days after his due date and had to be induced. He weighed 6lb13 and he was just perfect!

Oliver’s pregnancy was a breeze and I loved every moment of it. Jack was excited to be a big brother and I was excited to meet him. He was born 8 days late, weighing 7lb5oz and was a natural labour. Born the day after his daddy’s birthday he obviously didn’t want to share a day with his dad!

Arthur was born 13 days late (like Jack) weighing 7lb13 and we had to be induced. His labour was my most traumatic one. His heart rate would dip every time I had a contraction and I ended up being wheeled to delivery on my side with a leg in the air! (All dignity is lost in childbirth) He was also my quickest labour. From feeling absolutely nothing to a baby in 4 hours 20 minutes.

Total opposite to me, all of mine born early. I loved the “leg in the air” comment, we do all lose any dignity during childbirth, lol

They are gorgeous! Both of mine were overdue but back then (in the 80s) they didn’t induce so one was 2 weeks over and the other three weeks over. They had the same due date so I have a week between their birthdays #blogtober17

My daughters heart rate also started to dip with every contraction, i ended being rushed to theatre just getting away with not having to have an emergency c-section by the skin of my teeth.

Its scary isn’t it? This was my first labour without my sister there too so I had no idea what was happening, Mark was completely lost and we kinda just had to go with it.

Awww gorgeous boys! There definitely isn’t any dignity in childbirth!

  14. October 3, 2017 / 9:48 pm

We definitely do lose all dignity when giving birth if we managed to cling onto any during pregnancy. So worth it though. Your boys are gorgeous

We had three of ours in April and daddy’s is in the middle of April so I kept saying they were all avoiding his day!
