“Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday dear Jack, Happy Birthday to you!”
9 years ago my life changed for the better. There was nothing more that I wanted in life than to be a mum, even my work was dedicated to looking after children. For the past couple of years I have been writing letters to Jack. However the useless parent in me means I haven’t written one for neither Oliver or Arthur. So I have given up on that idea.
Over the past year Jack has changed so much! He has grown to be such an amazing young man who doesn’t seem to want for anything. When I asked him what he wanted for his birthday this year he said he wanted a Chromebook or laptop. Something he can use for school and of course play Roblox and Minecraft with. We have noticed more and more that he doesn’t seem to play with much other than Lego, so seemed pointless buying to just sit their gathering dust. Mark and I wanted to do something special for his day, so here we are.
Waking up on his birthday in a tent on holiday is something I knew Jack would LOVE! Eating birthday cake for breakfast, lunch and tea is something else I know he is going to love! What he doesn’t know is today we are also going to visit Paradise Wildlife Park Jack loves animals so I know he is going to love it!
I felt somewhat bad that this year Jack wouldn’t be waking up and opening his presents or having visits from family, but it does mean that we can celebrate his birthday three times. Once on holiday on his actual birthday, when we get back and when he has a sleepover with his friends. Something which he is so excited about!
