Welcome to my 1st Entry of my new feature, I will be writing a diary entry every week to be published on Sunday, I hope you enjoy.
This week has been a bit of a whirlwind! We have had some great days aswell as some terrible evenings. I have felt feelings of absolute dislike towards the boys, but then they play together and my heart melts. Parenting can suck sometimes, like really suck! Having to constantly remind the 4 year old to use the toilet. I wouldnt mind but he has been potty trained for over 2 years. The weather has been hot, really hot! So having 3 hot and bothered boys who are all moaning is pushing my patience.
Last week was my last day at work, after only being there under 3months it wasnt working out. I will really miss the guys i worked with but bringing £20 week home didnt seem worth it. We will just have to cut the take aways out. It is so difficult to find suitable work that fits in around the boys. Secretly i am happier being at home looking after them, but i know once January hits and Arthur gets funding i will be jobsearching again.
I started The Mum Diaries first ever giveaway this week and already have over 400 entries. I am so excited to be able to offer the prizes. (Supplied by Tommee Tippee) we have had fun using the cards in our photos even though my boys are way over the suitable age.
On Monday whilst Mark was at work we met up with one of Olivers friends J. He has only had one previous playdate with him, and it went so well. J’s mum and i decided we were going to go on a picnic and a walk around Ferry Meadows.
It was a great opportunity to test out the Nutrifillit pouches we were sent to review. Nutrifillit are reusable drink pouches that can be used for smoothies, protein shakes etc. We had lots of left over milk so used ours for Banana Milkshake. They can be stored in the fridge/freezer, are dishwasher safe and obviously reusable. The pouches have a double ziplock at the bottom to keep all the liquid contained and screw top lid. Once emptied they store flat so whilst out and about the biggest plus for us was we were not carting empty bottles home taking up space in the bag.
Aswell as our Nutrifillit we also took our Bibetta Lunch bag which was also sent. We have been using the bag on and off for a couple of weeks so we can get a real good feel for the bag. I love the material, its very similar to the material on a wetsuit. The bag has a little fish tag for you to write the name one. The design of our lunchbag is blue fishes.
Jack and Oliver went on their bikes whilst Arthur and I walked. As the day went on it was great to see Oliver become more confident in using 2 wheels. We met up with J and his mum and baby sister at their house, their family friends and grandson also came along. It was lovely to see all the boys playing together, and for J and Oliver to grow their friendship outside of playschool.
We went to Ferry meadows Lakeside Bar and Resturant for a quick drink and toilet stop, and found a nearby bench to eat at. With all the boys sitting to eat their lunch it was great to catch up with the adults. After lunch the boys had a play at the park and then we found a spot on the field for games. Boys enjoyed flying a Kite, playing Frisbee and then going on a ride on a train! We all had a great day and we can’t wait to meet up again soon!
Today is daddy’s day off from work, so we decided to go to the zoo. It was really hot and guess what we forgot? Yup the sun cream. We felt like the worst parent ever! We took plenty of water, and our Nutrifillit’s again, so we were all hydrated. I also packed a picnic, which the boys love having. When we arrived at Hamerton the first animals we saw was the Zebras in a paddock by the car park. The Zoo is a great place and it is always changing! So you can totally see where your entry fee is going. The last time we came was around 18 months ago and since then there were 2 major new attractions. You can see from our photos how much fun we had!
Whilst we were there Jack’s tooth came out! He was so excited for the tooth fairy visit!
This visit was the first one where we were able to attend all the different feeding times and we loved it! The Meerkats are my favourite animal and was the first to be fed, then the Ring Tailed Lemurs, Cheetahs and then Tigers. Hamerton is one of a handful of zoos to have the Malaysian Tigers! and they have a breeding pair hoping to mate soon. Aswell as the rare Malaysian Tigers Hamerton also have White Bengal Tigers too, which are becoming even more rare. One of the new enclosures is “Tiger Falls” which covers 2500 square foot including the tiger house with indoor viewing into the main den and off-show dens for isolation and cub-rearing, and holding runs connecting to the main large enclosure. As it is a new enclosure not all of it is ready yet.
The boys loved playing in the park, and even that had been upgraded since our last visit.
Today started off to be a lovely relaxing day. Jack was so excited that the tooth fairy had visited and left money! We had no where to be in the morning. In the afternoon the boys all biked over to their Aunts house for a BBQ. We had a special visitor to see from Northumberland, so it was lovely to spend time together. Grandad John had come to visit!
We all went on a walk to Ferry Meadows with Grandad John and Aunty Nic. The boys wanted to bike around the lakes, and feed the ducks. Oliver fell of his bike, he skidded on wet damp wood, and grazed his face. When we came home I made a Vanilla no bake cheesecake, and pizza. The boys all decorated their pizza and they had that for their tea. It was a lovely evening.
Started off to be a nice day, boys listening playing together. Then I decided to take them shopping. BIG mistake! why did I even think that would be okay? Went to Aldi to buy snacks and breakfast as Jack had his first friend for a sleepover. I hated it! reminded me why I don’t go shopping with them.
Came home and Jack constantly “When is J coming over, when are we picking him up?” He was so excited for him to come over, that all he did was tell me what they were going to play with.
I received my journal today, so I can start my Bullet Journal. I also popped to the shops so I can buy lots of accessories so I can really get into it!
J came over, Jack and Oliver were both really excited! They both love spending time with him. After tea the boys all played cars, and Jack showed J his new toys he got for his birthday.
Well, was woken up at 5.30am by the excited duo, then trio as Oliver joined them. They had a good night, stayed up until 9.30pm when they finally slept. All boys this morning were so well behaved, played lovely together. Jack wanted to show J the Wii, so they all played races on the Super Mario Bros.
J went home in the morning, so in the afternoon all the boys played with their lego. Was great to see them all play together and not fight or argue.
