Is it too early for our christmas tree?

The one thing I love about Christmas is the decorations. We tend to wait until Arthurs birthday is over before we even think about Christmas. Lately though I have been doing a little bit of shopping to try and budget our money a little better. Hopefully this means we don’t feel quite so strapped for cash during December.

However I can’t quite shift the feeling that I would like to put our decorations up. The house is looking a little bare for the festive season and I think it would cheer the boys up. In less than a week our elves will be returning for a week of fun! and there is nothing in the house to really say Christmas.

We always have great fun in putting the tree up too! We make an afternoon of it. All the decorations come down from the loft and Mark spends about an hour putting up all our trees. We have about 3 Christmas trees all in various heights and widths. The main one is 7ft and we brought it new last year. Then the boys have a small 3ft pencil tree for their playroom and then the tiny one. The smallest tree goes in their bedroom. We have so many tree decorations too! I love handmade ones and I prefer those on my main tree.

The boys all choose their baubles for the little trees. I spend ages trying to make a catalogue worthy tree that would make even the Pinterest addicts wet their pants! but I end up with a tree that looks like it has thrown up a shit loads of tinsel! Then I bitch and moan at mark that it doesn’t look good and go off in a strop. Mark and the boys are then left with the task of finishing the tree.

Have you got your Christmas tree up? Is it too early? I would love to know your thoughts!

We put ours up last week! I’m usually so excited about Christmas and anytime after 15th November is fine by me. I love the building excitement in the run up but I take it down quite early. It loses its magic after Christmas Day.
