Next month one of the biggest cycling competitions will be starting. The Tour De France is a huge cycling feat which covers over 3,000 kilometres across 21 stages. This months BostikBlogger box theme is Tour De France. With that in mind, we created a flag and mini Finger bikes to play with. The Finger bikes are tricky to make so is probably best with an adult doing them.
Celebrating the country of Tour De France, we thought we would colour in a flag! All you need is a bit of card (either cut in triangle, or in half), a wooden skewer and the colours blue and red. You can really let your imagination go when choosing which colouring tools to choose from, either pencils, paint, crayons etc anything will do.
Tour De France Pipe Cleaner Bike
This one is slightly more tricker, but you only need 2 pipe cleaners and a pair of scissors.
- Wrap the end of the pipe cleaner around 2 fingers to make one of the wheels.
- Using the long part of the pipe cleaner create a little bump, this will be the seat. You can either choose to make a little nub, or choose to cut and bend the end up slightly. Using the rest of the pipe cleaner create the other wheel.
- Using the second pipe cleaner cut to identical size pieces, around an inch in size. One will be the handlebars and the other will secure them to the bike frame.
- Wrap the pipe cleaner which secures the handlebars to the frame of the bike. Your bike should look like this.
Nothing is better than letting a child loose with their imagination and a few materials. The colours of the french flag are Blue, White and Red. So using a few circular pieces of tissue paper and decorative beads and of course some Bostik glue Arthur created his own french flag.
The Final Picture
*As part of BostikBlogger I was given a selection of craft materials to help inspire these crafts.
