Stationery makes me happy! If you read my previous posts about National Stationery Week you can probably understand my excitement when i found about World Calligraphy Day. Manuscript Pen Company announced that the first ever World Calligraphy Day will be held on Wednesday 16th August 2017. Events and workshops will be taking place around the world, with the main event being held in Birmingham.
The Pen Museum, Birmingham will be hosts to Manuscript Pen Company as well as world renowned creative artistes to help celebrate calligraphy and hand lettering trends. The Museum remains open to guests too so you can explore and learn about not only pen manufactures in Birmingham (of which there are a few) but also the history of the trade. From quills and dip pens to the fabulous fountain pen the museum covers it all.
World Calligraphy Day
I was sent these pens to help me with my Calligraphy skills which at the moment is zero! My history with Calligraphy was collecting a couple of magazines when i was younger but I never got anywhere with it. The pens I was sent was a Calligraphy set which included a selection of sized nibs. Also, a set of coloured pens with a fine tip and a wider tip. Having never used them before my skills are pretty laughable! I would love to improve my skills and although I can not make it to the open day I will be keeping an eye out across social media to see if I can pick up some tips!
