Ever so closer to the big 3 0 – Celebrating my birthday

Today I turn 28. 28 years ago on Thursday 1st June I was born. I have no idea what time I was born or how much I even weighed but it was today (28 years ago) that is for sure. Growing up my mum would always bake our birthday cakes and each year we couldn’t wait. I remember one year her asking me what I wanted and I said “101 Dalmatian cakes” I don’t think she heard me right because she made me 101 separate Dalmatian cakes! If you haven’t guessed it was my favourite film and my mum outdid herself that day. From the minute I left the house to when I got home from school she was in that kitchen and I had no idea!

Best birthday ever!

I had just got home from school and changed into my everyday clothes and my mum called me down. She said to me “So Jaymee what cake did you want?” I had the biggest grin on my face because I knew alright that under the table cloth was going to be the best 101 Dalmatian cake I had ever seen! My mum asked me to close my eyes and she pulled back the table cloth. I think I must have screamed when I opened my eyes. The whole entire table was covered in big cakes, small cakes, cup cakes and muffins! There was carrot cake, sponge cake and chocolate cake and all 101 of them decorated white with black dots!

That year my sister also made me a 101 Dalmatian furry cover and inside she brought me some patches. You know the type you sew onto your clothing. She made the cover and used buttons to secure the patches in place! I still have that in the loft. That year was pretty much the best year. Well, other than the year my sister (the same one who made the Dalmatian cover) brought me tickets to see Eminem live. At 14 he was like my whole entire world! My room was covered in his posters and I was besotted wit h him.

Today however I will most likely be sitting on the beach, hoping to spot some dolphins in the sea. I may not receive many gifts, or cards but I will be surrounded by my favourite people!

Birthday

I hope you had a lovely birthday! That’s hilarious and so sweet that your mum made 101 cakes! I turned 30 last year by the way, it’s actually been pretty good so far!
