Everyone at some point in their lives will know someone they know or love battle a terminal illness. Marie Curie offers FREE support to anyone with a terminal illness and their families. This is why the Daffodil Appeal is so important – £20 can pay for a dedicated nurse to help care for a terminally ill person for an hour! Without money raised and donated to Marie Curie they would not be able to offer the range of services they do!
This is why Marie Curie launched The Great Daffodil Appeal! During March everyone is encouraged to raise money to help Marie Curie continue their service to those that need it. You can help by either holding your own fundraising events (See below for ideas) or by making a donation and wearing their Daffodil pin badge.
Fundraising Ideas for Marie Curie
Marie Curie has a handy page all about Fundraising Ideas and how we can help and they would love us all to be involved!
Here are my handy fundraising tips!
- Bake Sale – Everyone loves cake and if for some unbeknown reason they don’t they will know someone who does! Cake sales are always a great way to bring communities together.
- Hold a dress up day at playgroup or a non school uniform day at school – Everyone can donate a £1 and either dress silly or in normal clothes.
- Sponsored silence – Chatterbox? I think you wouldn’t have any trouble in getting someone to donate a fiver to keep you quiet!
- Toddle around a park – grab a group of friends with toddlers and get sponsored to have a walk around the park. You can take donation tins and continue to fundraise as you walk around.
All these ideas are really simple and easy to do! The money raised will be used to ensure the services Marie Curie offer can continue to run.
