“Here they are for one and all. The Moomins are about to call. C’mon and sit down here with me. They’re here for you on your TV”
I love Tele and growing up i enjoyed watching way too many shows to name. The one show that really stands out to me above anything is The Moomins. We used to watch this programme every morning at 7am before school. It was our little ritual. I think secretly my dad loved it too and he didn’t want to miss out.
My dad and I shared a lot of favourite TV shows together. Another which i have fond memories of watching is “Dad’s Army.” My dad and I used to love sitting together watching Captain Mainwaring and Jones. A few years back my siblings and I brought 2 tickets for my dad. They were for him to go and see a stage show of Dad’s Army. Luckily I got to travel to Birmingham with him to go and watch it. He at this point had never been to see a stage performance (or so he told me.) He was really giddy with excitement. Before the show we bumped into the actor playing Private Pike my dad walked up to him and the first thing he said was “you stupid boy!” He instantly regretted, the bloke found it funny but my dad was nervous they would pick on him throughout the show.
Luckily for my dad it wasn’t that type of show and the rest of the day went uneventful.
